WHAT WE DO > CARPENTRY
Decks

From pool aprons accented with stamped concrete to custom cedar decking with all the right amenities.

Because outdoor living is enjoyed by people everywhere, a deck has become a basic component of today's homes.  Decks have great design flexibility.  From level ground to steep slopes, they can be made to respond to a wide variety of site conditions.

When KD Poolscapes designs a deck for your home, we strive to do the following:

  1. Enhance the appearance of your home.
  2. Blend the deck into the natural setting.
  3. Expand your outdoor living space.
  4. Provide for all the amenities that will meet your family’s specific needs.

Our most popular decking materials are Western Red Cedar and Redwood.  All understructure lumber is pressure treated.  With the exception of building a deck from a second story, lumber specifications for our decks are:

  • 2 x 8 pressure treated joists
  • 16" on center
  • 2 x 6 cedar deck boards
  • Galvanized joist hangers
  • 4 x 4 pressure treated posts
  • Concrete footings dug 48" below ground

The decking is climate control screwed in place.  We obtain all required building permits for your project. You may need to provide us with a Plot of Survey.

Although Western Red Cedar and Redwood decks are popular choices for decking materials, we are the innovators of what we call Stamped Concrete Inlaid Decks.  These are traditional decks enhanced with Stamped Concrete as the flooring.  This type of decking has been the ideal solution for the customer with a sloping property who is looking for the advantages of a deck without taking the required step(s) down and out a patio door.  Another great benefit is that we've taken a lot of the maintenance out of having a traditional deck.  You'll see a number of these in our gallery of decks.
